News Archive for Dover
The area covered by this Association is the coastal stretch from Deal to Capel le Ferne near Folkestone and inland to Denton near Canterbury then across to Wingham, Stourmouth and back to Sandwich.
Currently there are over 400 active various schemes within the area. The NHW office for this area is located in Dover Police Station. Our Liaison Officer is Sally Coleman who can be contacted on 01304 218151 or by email on sally.coleman@kent.pnn.police.uk.
The NHW office aims to telephone all co-ordinators within this area twice a year to ensure all is well and if any help is required. To keep our members informed the Association has its own newsletter published and issued quarterly free of charge, which is distributed to co-ordinators, public libraries and many Post Offices. At the present time 7,500 copies are printed each quarter.
The Association owns a small caravan displaying both the NHW and Country Eye Logos.
This caravan is operated by volunteers when it attends fetes and other similar events.
The volunteers help to promote NHW by recruiting co-ordinators, distributing leaflets and offering advice to the public.
At present our Chairman is Bob Akehurst, who is also Chairman of Kent County Neighbourhood Watch Association.
