- Owned by the COMMUNITY
- Run by the COMMUNITY
- For the COMMUNITY
KCNWA is the body elected by the movement in Kent to represent its interests. Examples of its duties are,
- Dealing with strategic issues, centrally with Kent Police on behalf of NhW. An example being the negotiation of the first in the UK, Service Level Agreement that sets out the expectations of both organisations to and from each other.
- Representing the interests of Kent NhW on the South East Regional Forum. A group who meet quarterly, and is made up of 3 nominated representatives from each of the County Associations, from within the following police forces of Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and Thames Valley. These meetings aim to identify and share good practice as well as ensuring the regions voice is heard nationally.
- KCNWA through the creation of an annual Action Plan /Business Plan seeks to identify funding streams to support the work of KCNWA.
- KCNWA continually seeks to identify partners who share the same ideals and objectives of NhW. Examples of this are KCC Clean Kent, KCC Trading Standards, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Dog Lost. The search for appropriate new partners will always remain a priority of KCNWA.
NhW in Kent is seen by many as one of the leading counties in the UK, a badge that is very proudly worn. KCNWA aims to ensure that it is always at the forefront of new initiatives in ensuring the effectiveness of its partnership with Kent Police. It is the collective effort of everyone involved at street level which will ensure that Kent is a happier and safer place in which to live.
